Education Again: A Deep Shocker This Time

A stack of vintage books next to an open magical book emitting light and sparkles on a wooden surface.

This is about the ability to read. First, a link to an article you need to read from the Federalist. It shocked me to the bone, it should hit you too, right in the feels.

Ivy League Students Can’t Read!

Once you read that article, come back here please.

Now that is done and over with, do you know what this means for authors? No wonder our book sales have been slumping across the board! Not because of piss-poor stories, like some have claimed.

A growing number of American graduates, out in the world doing College, or even working for a living without a college degree, can’t read! If they can’t read, or struggle with reading, how in the hell can they enjoy a good book?

They can’t.

I’m too stunned to say anything more. If we can’t reverse this horrific trend and get our younger adult generations into reading, be it Fiction or Non-Fiction, book sales will drop through the floor and the publishing industry will suffer.

Not to mention an author’s income. What a terrible mess we have made for ourselves!

SHEESH!
