I have a series of questions to ask. The answers will follow eventually, and you can compare them to what you actually know. Do not ask anyone for help, don’t use Google or anything else to seek the answers. Either YOU know them, or you don’t. Here they are:
- How many dimes in a dollar?
- 3 X 3 X 3 = ?
- Name the two countries that border America.
- What language is spoken in Idaho?
- How many minutes are in one quarter of an hour?
- Who fought in the American civil war?
Ponder these six questions for a moment. Don’t use Google or your calculator.
Have your answers without peeking anywhere else or asking another? Good.
I graduated High School in 1987 and then College in 1993. I knew all of these answers as these are common knowledge in High School! Known by all. But not anymore. Another thing to ponder. Do you know how to read and write in cursive? If not, why? I was taught it in school. Hand writing was a serious class to take in the 6th and 8th grades!
It pains me a great deal that your knowledge was robbed from you. You should know these answers, and as for that list, here are those answers.
- 10
- 27
- Canada and Mexico
- English (Idaho is an American state! One of 50!)
- 15
- The Union and the Confederates.
How many did you get wrong? Even if just one, you got robbed of a decent education. Robbed big time. Counting money was a class. So was basic math. Three times three is nine, and nine times three is twenty seven. That is how a multiplication string is calculated. Basic Geography was an 8th grade class. We easily learned about all the other countries, especially the two that bordered America. Canada and Mexico, because they are our neighbors.
As for telling time, I can look at a clock dial with the two hands and can tell time. I know a quarter of an hour is 15 minutes, but it would shock you to know how many people would say 25 minutes. Oh, was the you? Sorry, your education was most certainly robbed.
As for American History, that was taught in the 8th and 11th grades when I was in school. Knowing our history is highly important. It was so we didn’t repeat the same historical mistakes that cost people their lives.
If you got one or more of those questions wrong, you need to sue the hell out of your school district and get the money needed to buy a proper education, and get educated! Learn cursive, to read and write it! Learn how to count money! Learn how to read a clock dial and tell time, and learn about our American History. Why?
Because knowledge is power!
How powerful do you want to be?
